About The Blog
The central theme of Voorhees' New Jersey Legal Malpractice Blog is New Jersey legal malpractice law and legal malpractice insurance law. The author recognizes that there are significant cases decided around the country which may have an effect upon the development of the law in New Jersey.
This blog is designed to be an up-to-date comment upon New Jersey law and law throughout the country on these two topics. It is designed for legal malpractice lawyers “on both sides of the fence”, as well as legal malpractice insurers. The author’s point of view is that of a trial attorney “in the trenches”. The author assumes that the reader has a certain level of sophistication in legal malpractice insurance and legal malpractice insurance coverage issues, as the case may be.
The reader will note that unpublished Opinions provide a portion of the cases which this blog analyzes. Unpublished cases, of course, do not carry the force of stare decisis. Frequently, however, they are invaluable guides to “which way the wind is blowing” in developing areas of legal malpractice and insurance coverage law.
The publisher has provided links to the Lexis version of the unpublished Opinions for those who subscribe to that service. Unpublished New Jersey State cases are provided, with links were possible. If for some reason there is no link, go to the links section of the Home Page, follow the link to NJ Courts Online, and follow the tutorial contained on that site to link with the archive of unpublished Opinions.
